Fun In The Snow

This has been our coldest Winter in Belgium. Temperatures are below zero and as a result, everything is still covered in snow and ice.

Glynn and Grace had fun building a snowman in our backyard. His a pretty cool dude.....don't you think?

She also got to enjoy sliding, running and sledding down the hills of one of the snow covered parks. She loved it!!!!It always amazes us how well she copes in these cold conditions. Grace just loves the outdoors!!!!

Staying Indoors

Grace, Nina and I have spent most of our time indoors this week due to the snow, ice and very cold temperatures.

Here are some pics of our indoor activities.

Christmas Markets

The Christmas markets are always popular in Europe. Brussels has one during the entire month of December.

This year was a little bit different as we had both girls with us and it was sooooo cold that we weren't able to browse and stay out for as long as we would have liked.

Brrrrrrrrrr

This has been one of Brussels coldest Winters in a long time. We've had consistently low temperatures. Today's high is -7. It's cold and everything's covered in snow. I love watching snowflakes fall from the sky. They're so pretty, light and fluffy. Grace has learned to say "snowing now".

Grace got to play in the snow yesterday. She had so much fun, she did not want to come in from outside. Here are pics of her in our backyard.

Christmas as a family of 4

It's been a special season this year as we've enjoyed celebrating our Saviour's birth with our 2 girls.

Grace did a great job of helping us decorate the house and helping to put up the Christmas tree. It was such a delight to watch her face as Glynn turned on the tree's lights each night. Then, on Christmas morning, Glynn had the family on Skype watching her open her gifts. She had so much fun and so did we. Thank you family and friends for all the gifts. It was a real special treat to be able to open them on Christmas morning.

We were also blessed by friends who invited us out on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. Your friends become your family when you're far from home and this held true this Advent season. God has blessed us with great friends who care.

We invited Titso and her son over for Christmas lunch and we enjoyed being able to prepare a meal for others. Titso is the lady who occasionally babysits for Grace and she was the lady we called on when I went into labour with Nina at 11 the night. She came and stayed the night at our house looking after Grace. She's a very special lady whom we appreciate. Sometimes we're so busy receiving.......... it was nice to be able to serve and give to others. Glynn made the yummiest food and we both had a busy time baking cakes and other desserts this season.

Despite not spending the time with family, this has been one of our best Christmas'. Our little family has now begun our own traditions and I look forward to spending many more years celebrating the birth of our of Saviour together.

Plopsaland

Glynn and I took Grace to Plopsaland, a kiddies amusement park. Grace had an absolute blast!! She loved everything!!! She's a little girl who loves adventure and is not afraid to attempt even the fastest rides.

Daddy's stomach did a little turn on the slide though. Grace however responded with"more, more" and so what could he do but take her one more time on the fast slide ride.
