Grand-Dad and Grammy's visit
Glynn's mom and dad came over to Belgium to celebrate Grace's first birthday with us. This was a really special holiday as they've never been overseas before. They were amazed by this world which was very different from their own.
They of course indulged in Belgian waffles, chocolate, mousse and countless pastries and sweet treats.
As this was their first overseas visit we wanted to ensure they saw some of Europe while they were here. We did 2 short road trips.
The first one was to Luxembourg, then to Sedan in north France to visit the largest castle in Europe and finally to Paris. The Eiffel tower was a sight to behold as I'd never seen it lit up at night before. We were in for a special treat when even more lights were turned on at 8pm. Grace and I also got to go on a carousel ride which was such fun. Glynn did a really good job of navigating the roads with a paper map dare I say and no GPS!!!!! Paris is a busy, crazy city even on a Sunday.
The second trip was to Harlem in Holland, then to Amsterdam. We visited the Corrie Ten Boom house in Harlem which is something I've always wanted to see. She was an amazing women of God. Read her book called "The Hiding Place" if you've never read it before.
Grace was spoiled rotten of course as she doted on all the attention from her grandparents. It was their privilege to spoil her and love her.
Thank you dad and mom for sharing in Grace's first birthday celebration.
